Review of the Hublot Replica Big Bang Sang Bleu II with a blue dial
If the name hublot replica Big Bang Sang Bleu II sounds familiar and boring to you, don’t jump to that conclusion. Indeed, the Big Bang Sang Bleu II collection was introduced a relatively long time ago – in 2019, and in itself is a reworking of the original lineup introduced back in 2016. Recall that both versions of the watch appeared thanks to the collaboration between the Hublot brand and the Swiss tattoo artist Maxime Bushy. Both lines have been very warmly received in the watch world due to their expressive and unique geometric design. In full accordance with the traditions of replica rolex, the following year, more and more limited variations began to appear in the Big Bang Sang Bleu II collection. And although most often it was just about new colors of the dial, the public perceived the new versions very positively. This is exactly what happened with the watch, which we will talk about in more detail below – the Big Bang Sang Bleu II model with a blue dial.
Case, dial and hands
The new Big Bang Sang Bleu II models come in either 18K gold or titanium, as was the case when the entire line was launched in 2019. In the design itself, in fact, no changes have occurred, except for the new color of the dial, as well as the color of the subdials of the chronograph, hour and second “hands”. Now they are not black, but blue – an increasingly fashionable color lately. It is noteworthy that the watchmakers themselves are increasingly saying that blue is the new black color. All sharp corners, lines, kinks on the body, as well as various types of finishes, which are so striking to the imagination, have also been preserved. The dial has the same very intricate appearance with complex geometric disks that act as “hands”. Thanks to this, the clock remains just as difficult to read.
Again, the main change is the color of the dial. And while there is nothing wrong with the black versions of 2019, in our opinion, the new blue models have significantly rejuvenated the collection. There is nothing radical and amazing in these changes, but, in any case, fans of the Sang Bleu brand and collection have a little more choice.
The key is still the use of rotating disks of complex geometric shapes instead of arrows – an idea that belongs to Maxime Bushy. However, there are still plenty of options for further improvement of the design, and there is still a long way to go before the “finishing” of the collection.
Mechanism
All Big Bang Sang Bleu II watches are powered by the in-house caliber HUB1240 Unico. It has a very impressive power reserve of 72 hours at a fairly modest frequency of 4 Hz. If you look inside the watch through a transparent sapphire cover, you can see a huge rotating rotor that extends almost the entire area of the movement. The partly openwork rotor was developed according to the unique design of Maxime Bushi himself, and through it you can partially view the work of the caliber. The decor of the movement is also made to a very high standard, although without anything particularly outstanding, in general, the caliber is very beautiful and attractive. And this is the same mechanism that was previously used in the Big Bang Sang Bleu II collection from 2019.
Overview of competitors
The blue version of Big Bang Sang Bleu can hardly be called something fundamentally new. It just expands the color range of the dials. Some fans, on the contrary, might even be disappointed by this, as the new version blurs the halo of exclusivity that surrounded the Big Bang Sang Bleu II collection. Until 2020, the circulation of the model was limited to only 200 pieces in a titanium case and 100 in King Gold, in which the dial was, of course, black. The blue version added 200 more pieces in a titanium case and 100 pieces in King Gold to this number. Their prices are set at 24,800 euros and 46,600 euros, respectively.
But one should not make a common mistake here. Regardless of Hublot Replica’s marketing strategy and how you rate it, the watch itself makes a great impression, as long as its imposing 45mm size is to your liking. Of course, the most interesting thing about this watch is the case, its shape and finish are just perfect. But, nevertheless, the important question remains: are they excellent enough for such prices?
To still answer this question, you should compare the Sang Bleu II with other watches similar to them. Among the models of the brand itself, in our opinion, nothing comes close to them as much as the Hublot Classic Fusion Aerofusion Chronograph Orlinski. Moreover, if someone confuses them with each other, it will be quite forgivable. The Classic Fusion Aerofusion Chronograph Orlinski is also a date function chronograph in the same multifaceted case as the Big Bang Sang Bleu II, only polished. Orlinski’s dial is similarly skeletonized but more legible than the Sang Bleu II. In a titanium case, the Classic Fusion Aerofusion Chronograph Orlinski sells for $17,800, making it more affordable than the Sang Bleu II in the same case. Both the first and second watches look great in our opinion, but in terms of design, the Sang Bleu II is definitely a step up, so the price premium is well deserved.
