THE STORY OF HEUER GOLDEN CARRERA
The first breitling replica Carrera chronographs came on the market in 1963 and immediately became an integral part of the equipment of all top racers. In the early 70s, as part of a partnership with the Ferrari team, Jack Heuer prepared a special collection of watches for the pilots of these single-seaters. It was the legendary 1158CHN model, made of 18K gold, which was Jack’s favorite material. Each piece was adjusted individually for each competitor, his blood group was engraved on the lid. All these pieces became collector’s rarities in the future.
DESIGN
It is from this historical model that the new special model is based. The chronograph is made of gold and the date of Jack Heuer’s birth is marked with two “eights” on its dial, which at the same time points to infinite timelessness with its “recumbent eights” position.
Under the lower crystal on the oscillating weight, we find Jack Heuer’s life motto: “Time never stops, why should we?” and his signature is printed on the underside of the crocodile strap. The watch also retains the original layout of the chronograph on the dial: the original only had two counters, so the new version has a third counter at the bottom without an accent ring. They are equipped with the new in-house caliber H02 with an 80-hour power reserve.
